Until mid-autumn there will be a veg-friendly menu available – created especially for veggie devotees. The Surf Lodge caters to individuals seeking one-of-a-kind cuisine that’s both cruelty-free and delicious.
With New York chef Jay Astafa on board you can expect an arsenal of meticulously crafted food options. From cantaloupe gazpacho with eggplant bacon and borage to a grilled peach salad, from corn ravioli topped with truffles to a savory brunch and a decadent dessert, everyone will find something satisfying their palates.
Fan of pasta? Picture homemade raviolis with cultured cashew-tofu ricotta, corn and basil. Garnished with cherry tomatoes, popcorn shoots and shaved summer truffles.
Surf Lodge executive chef Chris Rendell reflects on changes occurring in Montauk in recent years, “There is definitely a direction towards wellness and more thoughtful eating. Having someone [like Jay] with their finger on the [plant-based] pulse helps. It is up to us to [evolve] with the growing tide towards better eating.”
When asked about this opportunity Jay Astafa says, “I’m thrilled to collaborate with The Surfe Lodge. While I’ve designed comprehensive menus for my family’s restaurants and private clients, this is my first time developing recipes for a respected Hamptons establishment. It’s a privilege to be invite by owner Jayma Cardoso to share with travelers and locals alike the ingredients that inspire me, which I am hopeful draw guests back to this special destination again and again.”
