Misty Copeland kicked off the launch of her Under Armour collection earlier this week at Cadillac House.
For those of you who are unfamiliar, Misty Copeland is a ballerina at the American Ballet Theatre and has had a successful four-year-long relationship with Under Armour, leading up to the launch of her new signature collection. The Misty Copeland Signature Collection prioritizes performance and functionality, but not at the expense of style and versatility. Co-designed by Misty, the new collection, “helped my vision become a reality and I’m so excited to share this collection with women everywhere. I wanted a line where we could feel fierce in the gym, and at the same time, feel confident wearing the same look out to dinner, running errands or living our everyday lives.” The collection itself consists of bodysuits, leggings, trench coats and much more.
The kick-off event consisted of a Q&A panel as well as a styling competition using The Misty Copeland Signature Collection. former Teen Vogue Editor-in-chief, Elaine Welteroth moderated the panel and asked Misty the inspiration behind the collection. Following the Q&A, the street styling contestants showed off their looks before Misty judged and named contestant two the winner. After the competition, the models came back onto the catwalk for another run through of Misty’s new collection. Check out images from the event below!
