Tyler Perry Studios and Lionsgate announced Boo! A Madea Halloween has started production and will be released this year.
Perry returns to his famous role of Madea in the new film as well as writing, producing and directing the project. Ozzie Areu and Will Areu will also be producing the film. Madea gets in to more mayhem as she takes care of a group of teenagers on Halloween. Over the course of the day she has to endure killers, paranormal poltergeist, ghosts, ghouls and zombies.
The idea for a Halloween themed Madea movie came from when Perry and Chris Rock discussed including a fake Madea Halloween movie in Rock’s film Top Five where a comedian tries to become a serious actor before getting roped in to broadcasting his wedding day.
Other stars of the new Medea movie include, Bella Thorne as “Rain,” Cassi Davis as “Aunt Bam,” Patrice Lovely as “Hattie,” Andre Hall as “Quinton,” Yousef Erakat as “Jonathan,” Lexy Panterra as “Leah,” Diamond White as “Tiffany,” Liza Koshy as “Aday,” Brock O’Hurn as “Horse,” Jimmy Tatro as “Sean,” JC Caylen as “Mikey,” Kian Lawley as “Bean Boy,” and Mike Tornabene as “Dino.” Perry will play two additional roles, “Joe” and “Brian,” as well as Madea. The film is set to be released on Oct. 21
