With a lively musical set by DJ Kristen Oshiro, a delicious selection of hors d’oeuvres, and a custom cocktail by Mishi Torgove of Pulqueria, fashion model and blogger Gala Gonzalez released her Spring/Summer ’15 capsule collaboration with distinguished jewelry brand “Tous”.
In the minimal, white studio at Gary’s Loft penthouse, Gala warmed up the environment with her impeccable array of jewelry, set with uniquely cut quartz, emerald, ruby and brown diamonds. Inspired by organic colors and shapes, Gala aims to capture the contemporary boho market. It’s not just the typical Coachella girl that can rock these pieces though, as they are offered in many fabrications and colors to suit any style.
The party reflected the lively and free spirited work by Ms. Gonzalez, which also showcased the new Spring/Summer “Miami” collection. In the classic Tous style, champagne set the night off in the right direction; however, the drink of the night “Tender Stories No. 2” as they called it, was anything but ordinary. The refreshing taste of the ocean vodka, fennel syrup, lemon juice, and mint was reminiscent of a cocktail perfect for a tanning session on Miami Beach. Coincidentally [or not] the color of the drink represented the playful pastels of the “rubber band rings” and the Rosenda totes. The collection was more color heavy than seen in previous Tous collections, and the introduction of interesting combinations infused just the right amount of youthfulness, without coming across “childish” and costume-y. Even amidst the clashing teals, purples, and oranges, If you are reluctant to sport fun colors, you may want to rethink your scepticism. There are pieces here for everyone, and they may just lead you out of your comfort zone.
