Veteran actor Tommy Lee Jones will be joining Matt Damon in the next installment of the Bourne franchise.
Whether or not we actually want another Jason Bourne film, it’s happening. The Bourne Legacy was definitely the most disappointing film throughout the whole franchise (which is what happens when you make a Bourne film without Jason Bourne), and whether or not Jeremy Renner will even be back in this film is up in the air. Very little is actually known about the next Bourne film except that Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, and director Paul Greengrass are returning to the franchise. Plus, Alicia Vikander has been announced to appear in the film.
Announced by Variety, Tommy Lee Jones has joined the cast for the next film in the franchise. Tommy Lee Jones is a solid get for any film, but to see him added to Bourne 5 (yeah, there’s no title yet) gives me some hope that the film is at least heading in the right direction. It’s reported that Jones will play a high ranking CIA officer, similar to that of Edward Norton, Chris Cooper, Brian Cox, and David Strathairn. With Paul Greengrass coming off of the best film of his career in Captain Phillips, there’s a lot to be excited about. Once there are any details about the film released, you can find them here.
