This past Sunday, The Selects held an event where SS20 Collections from 10 up and coming Korean designers were put on display in their Soho Showroom.
The brands present were Beyond Closet, BMUET(TE), HEOHWAN SIMULATION, Hidden Forest Market, KYE, LEYII, LIE, NOHANT, SWBD, and WNDERKAMMER
Each area of the room hosted different designer’s visions and at the center were models each wearing a different collection.
Designer Hye-Young Shin from WNDERKAMER spoke to the Knockturnal about her collection and why she preferred the event’s display technique over the traditional runway.
“The whole theme [of the collection] is called imperfect perfection,” she said through a translator. Through her designs she wanted to reach “a woman who’s confident ad knows her own style.
As one of the designers selected for the presentation, Shin welcomed they way in which her pieces were displayed.
“Presentations [I appreciate] way more then the runway. Because people can touch the garment and look at all the details, and runway you’re just sitting from far away.”
