What’s a holiday block party without a little Mariah Carey covers?
On Monday, December 3rd, Seaport District celebrated the holidays by throwing a Seaport Holiday Block Party. This event featured an array of musical performances, free hot chocolate, gift card prizes, and a beautiful Christmas tree. As soon as we walked into this event, we were hit by the mouthwatering aroma of hot chocolate. People were gathered all around, some even in extensive Christmas outfits (one person wore a wreath on their body). At around 6 pm, the main event started off with a short introduction welcoming everyone to this holiday block party. After introductions were done, we were treated to a musical performance by a very talented choir. They spent about 10-15 minutes singing some Christmas music, including Mariah Carey’s song “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” When the choir started singing Mariah’s song, the giant tree behind them immediately lit up, which sparked even more holiday cheer.
Once the choir finished singing, guests were then treated to another musical performance by The Voices’ One Up. One Up was featured on the last season of the voice and their mentor was none other than Kelly Clarkson. They spent their time on stage singing some old goodies such as The Jackson Five’s “I Want You Back.” They also sand some newer pop songs as well, one of them being “Cake By The Ocean” by DNCE. This was definitely a fun event to start off the holiday season right. And you can check out the now lit Christmas tree at the Seaport District. And while you’re there, you can do some holiday shopping with all the stores around too. Checking out this area is definitely a must do for this holiday season.
