[slideshow]Dedicated filmmakers gathered Monday evening to celebrate TFI’s new presenting partner, The Orchard, of the 2015 TFI Documentary Fund. The event was chic, casual, and had talented filmmakers buzzing about their upcoming projects.
Wegot to speak with the inspiring founders of Smoke & Apple Films, Katie and Carlye about their upcoming documentary film. The film follows the stories of three youth in the States who received extreme sentences in the juvenile justice system. When asked what inspired the film, Carlye answered that the injustices which come with the extreme sentence that throws a child away with no chance of rehabilitation was the trigger for the film. “If we are treating our children like this, then there is something really wrong with our society,” she told us
