To close out New York Fashion Week, The Knockturnal hosted Mashell Goodluck’s FVWL (From Vincy With Love) Fall/Winter collection at White Space Chelsea.
The runway show was sponsored by Lugz and Shea Moisture, and Plush Vodka made the space fit for mingling post-show with music from DJ Harkore. Guests in attendance included Love & Hip Hop: New York’s Mamma Jones, Actress Tashiana Washington, and Influencer Igee Okafor.
The show was inspired by Goodluck’s St. Vincent roots and displayed futuristic pieces, celebrating island vibes and tropical colors. The collection mixed modern streetwear with a high-fashion style.
“I am inspired by places, the natural flow of life and architecture. Ultimately, I want to make fashion that’s as beautiful as a caterpillar’s evolution to a butterfly. However, my driving force will always be island culture and color,” said Goodluck.
The show featured women’s pantsuits with long, flowy trains, men’s silk suits, and a white two-piece couture dress. Goodluck designed a silver nylon style puff vest and dresses, with an outer space flare.
The models walked Lugz, with styles from their Tan Colorado Chukka boot to their retro White Women’s Dotcom 2.0 Oxford sneaker.
Stylist Jachelle Whiting used TRESemmé products on the models. Shea Moisture sponsored the gift bags. Some of the items that were gifted to attendees included: Hydrate + Repair Protein Power Treatment, Brighter Days Ahead Serum, and Hydrate + Repair Multi-Action Leave-In Conditioner.
