Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Kimpton Hotel Eventi, Manhattan, New York—IHG Hotels & Resorts hosted the US Open Grand Slam Social at the Kimpton Hotel Eventi (located on 851 6th Avenue New York, NY).
The doors opened to the Kimpton hotel at 7:00 pm sharp. Guests in attendance were directed to the coat check-in option and escorted up two levels where they were warmly greeted by a stunning model adorning a dress fashioned in the patterns of a tennis ball, an IHG themed tennis ratchet in hand and she stood elegantly on what appeared to be the entrance way to a private tennis court. An in-house DJ played an uptempo mix of pop, hip hop and house music to lighten the mood; across the hall, an open bar stood readily available, serving choice wines and cocktails for the guests in attendance.
Along with refreshments and music to entertain the guests, two tennis tables, positioned parallel to each other, offered the guests an up close and personal dive into the game.
To honor the long standing cultural debate as to whether a tennis ball is “green or yellow”, guests bounced their way to the tennis ball theme, step and repeat activation; photography and film compliments of The Bosco. The display served to introduce the party goers to an over-the-top, tennis-ball-themed suite that has been designed at choice IHG hotels, in honor of the US Open. The design of the step and repeat, much like the ‘IHG Rally Room, catered to both sides of the court; sliced down the middle by a tennis court center line, one half of the backdrop featured vibrant green décor and the other half showcasing striking yellow touches. The green side features bright green decor, green sneakers, and tennis-themed accessories while the yellow side offers vibrant yellow decor, retro charm, and yellow high-tops for an elevated tennis look.
For those that adore the optical illusion, The IHG Rally Room suite is available for stays at Kimpton Hotel Eventi in NYC and Hotel Indigo Atlanta Downtown and will be available for booking starting today for stays beginning Aug. 26 for a maximum of two-night stays throughout the two weeks of the US Open tournament. Guests at the IHG Hotel Grand Slam Social also enjoyed an evening of free-flowing drinks, and got a taste of IHG’s unrivaled care for its guests by mingling and sipping a cold beverage from the Racquet Bars and juice fountains. Guests were able to reuse and take home memorabilia in the form of mini tumblers. They also enjoyed and snacked on small bites and danced the night away to a special live performance by Mark Ronson.
