On June 13, 2022, the East End Chapter/Jeanne Kaye League of New York City honored lifestyle expert, author, and actress Kym Douglas and Hilldun Corporation’s Executive Vice President and Managing Director Joshua Kapelman with City of Hope’s Spirit of Life® Award at their annual cocktail celebration at the infamous New York establishment, Fresco by Scotto – made possible thanks to the restaurant’s co-owner and evening’s co-host Rosanna Scotto.
City of Hope’s mission is to deliver the cures of tomorrow to the people who need them today. Founded in 1913, City of Hope has grown into one of the largest cancer research and treatment organizations in the U.S. and one of the leading research centers for diabetes and other life-threatening illnesses.
The evening, which was attended by notables including Countess Luann de Lesseps, Margaret Josephs, and Ramona Singer raised awareness and support for cancer research and treatment innovation at City of Hope, one of the largest cancer research and treatment organizations and a leading research centers for diabetes and other life-threatening illnesses in the U.S.
A special testimonial video for Kym Douglas by Kris Jenner was also shared with Jenner saying, “As a City of Hope supporter, myself, I know the amazing work the organization does and I’m thrilled for my friend, Kym, to be receiving this award tonight. Kym, you are so deserving of this award because of your generous and caring heart. Your commitment to finding a cure for cancer is an inspiration to all of us.”
The event consisted of delicious light bites, cocktails, performers like a live electric guitarist, videos, and speeches by notable attendees who came to show their support for the City of Hope’s mission.
To continue their selfless commitment and stay on track with fulfilling a goal of expanding access to the latest discoveries and leading-edge care to more patients, families, and communities.
City of Hope’s growing national system includes its main Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, scheduled to open in 2022, and Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
