New York Fashion Week has hit its esteem once again.
Though fashion month is just beginning, New York Fashion Week has come to an end. Under the direction of the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s new chairman and designer Tom Ford, NYFW felt re-invigorated with great efforts to showcase the talents of young and up-and-coming designers as well as a dedication to their original selves from more seasoned designers and brands. Project Runway judge Brandon Maxwell traveled back to his Texas roots; Prabal Gurung contemplated contemporary Americana; and Kate Spade’s cast of models was composed of people who challenge both industry and societal structures in their everyday lives. Crowds viewing the Spring/Summer 2020 collections also saw a stride to more diversity and inclusivity in the fashion industry along with an edge that can only emulate that of New York City. This NYFW was one of the best in years, and the collections proved that. Here are 30 of The Knockturnal’s favorite pieces from the week’s runways.
