Eddie Alcazar’s first full-length narrative, “Perfect,” will not appeal to all. It might not even appeal to most. But the people it would appeal to? Well, I would definitely party with them.

Last night at the Paris Theater, Starz hosted the premiere of Steven Soderbergh’s “The Girlfriend Experience.” The new television series centers on the life of a New York call girl. The titillating show stars Riley Keough (real-life granddaughter of Elvis Presley) as Christina Reade, who is not your likely escort. Moonlighting as a high-class prostitute at night while interning at a high profile law firm during the day leads to some very interesting moments in this young woman’s life.
After the screening guests attended a swanky after-party at the fantastic Nobu Fifty Seven. Throughout the evening selections from the restaurant were served including crispy rice with spicy tuna, chicken teriyaki, rock shrimp tempura, lobster and veggie tacos and assorted sushi.
Singani 63 was highlighted at the bar, which is the culmination of a 51-year, privately funded project known as the Steven Soderbergh adventure. Guests enjoyed cocktail delights with the beverage including The Fast Cash blended with sake, The Corner Suite with creme de peche, lime and ginger beer , and the lovely Sudden Impulse with Hibiscus Blackberry Chia, Meyer Lemon, Ginger liqueur and sparkling wine.
DJ Zen Freeman kept the crowd dancing all night long as assorted pastries were passed out. The evening was also presented by Vanity Fair.
The show will air on Starz April 10.
I mean, if we already have a Ghostbusters reboot with a whole female cast, why not have Sandra Bullock run her own casino heist?
Now we all loved the original. And I mean the original, with the Rat Pack of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. (in racist undertones) all robbing a casino. And of course, we liked the remake that George Clooney starred in and made with Brad Pitt and Matt Damon.
So obviously it’s time for the female rat pack to emerge. The film, which Clooney will produce, will have Gary Ross of The Hunger Games directing. Over a year in the works, the project is finally getting made, all with Olivia Milch (known for Queen & Country) as the screenwriter, all when Clooney, Steven Soderbergh and Jerry Weintraub came together last fall. And while they had a mild set back with Weintraub’s death earlier this summer, the film is still going on full speed ahead.
The all new female cast film is set to be released in 2017, and this still leaves up for question as to how close the script will be towards the 2001 Clooney film, or what ten other women will star in the film.
