Queen Sugar, one of OWN’s hit family drama series which is helmed by Ava DuVernay will return for season 4 on June 12th. The Knockturnal sat down with the series three leading cast members Rutina Wesley, Dawn-Lyen Gardner and Kofi Siriboe during an intimate press luncheon in New York City, where the cast discussed how themes, storylines and more from the previous seasons will be explored when the show returns.
“Queen Sugar” is an intertwining tale of the estranged Bordelon siblings of Louisiana. Nova (Rutina Wesley), a journalist and vocal black activist, is the core of the family.

I’m certainly one of those people who periodically will make herself wean from TV for some reason or another; I’m thinking I might have to wait until after the season finale of OWN Network’s ‘Queen Sugar’, though.

Last Thursday at Soho’s boutique Crosby Street Hotel there was a private screening of Ava DuVernay’s drama Queen Sugar. The series is a part of Oprah Winfrey Network and is created, directed and executive produced by Ava DuVernay alongside Oprah Winfrey.
