On Thursday, August 10, 2017 212 NYC had its ninth annual summer party on the sea side at Pier 16, South Street Seaport in NYC, and what an “unforgettable networking experience” it was. This year’s exciting performers just happened to be the Latin/Hip-Hop remix king Messiah, and the triple threat Grammy award-winning rapper, Tip “T.I.” Harris. And boy did The Sea of digital media, marketing professionals turn up!
In his career Messiah El Artiste made it a point to be different from his fellow Latino artists, by not wanting to be attached to just one style of music. He’s created a name for himself by making many island hopping songs, from classic popular Latin music, to reggeton, and Hip-Hop, one in which includes his single “Ay!” In addition to “Ay!” “Give It Up,” and the unforgettable “Uh La La,” El Artista performed his biggest hit song about gold digging women called, “Chapi Chapi.” “Chapi Chapi” solidified his trap carrier when he received the stamp of approval from recent chart topping reality star/Trap Queen Cardi B. El Artista continued making waves on the Pier by performing his hottest remixes of trap songs, and reggaeton. Messiah made history for being 212NYC’s first Urban Latin performer, while taking us to the islands, the Trap, and back in one show.
With seven top 5 Billboard albums, nine studio albums, and acting under his belt. This entrepreneurial father of trap music didn’t need any introductions or anything more to wear than a sweat suit, boots, and a fitted cap. Tip T.I. Harris came out and jumped right in to “Top Back.” And with such a huge collection of songs T.I. Just went down the list of classics like “ASAP,” “Rubber Band Man,” “What You Know,” and “What Ever You like.” He performed “Blurred Lines” by himself as well as “Live Your Life” “Bring Em’ Out” and “Swagger Like Us.” After several more hit records, ladies throwing bows, and more booming bass, T.I.’s performance turned into a gritty hydraulic ride down memory lane that ended with “About The Money.”
Lastly, this private, intimate, ocean front event was just one of countless social options you have to choose from when you join 212NYC, and want to network. Please check out the artists of this years annual summer party line up and visit our website for membership eligibility at 212NYC.org
