Isaac Mizrahi Presents Isaac Mizrahi Smartwatch Engineered by HP

by Simran Pabla February 5, 2016
written by Simran Pabla

In the past few years, we’ve seen companies like Apple and Google make their entrance into the fashion world. With the highly successful Apple Watch, it can safely be assumed that we will be seeing many more collaborations between technology and fashion brands. The newest collaboration comes to the market in the form of the Isaac Mizrahi Smartwatch Collection Engineered by HP.

At first glance the watch looks nothing like what we have come to expect from a tech watch. It’s traditional interface and classic gold and stainless steel exteriors, have Swarovski crystals around the face frame. The watches have interchangeable color leather bands that are available in five different colors. The Smartwatch boosts five days of battery life and comes compatible with both Android (4.4+) and iOS (8+) systems. Essentially it’s the first watch that can be used with both Androids and iPhones through the use of Bluetooth Technology. The otherwise traditional watch leaves little room for the tech part. Underneath the watch hands, the watch illuminates whenever a notification arrives. The desired notifications are user friendly; the user can chose to see what they see. Notifications include calls, notes, calendar alerts, and texts.

In addition the watch is water-proof, proving it to be quite adaptable and versatile. The best part is that the watch costs $249, about a $100 less than the cheapest version of the Apple Watch. The question now remains as to whether consumers will adopt this new tech watch that looks exactly like a traditional watch but shows you quick notifications. Is this the perfect marriage between fashion and tech? Is it useful?

Sound off below in the comments section. To learn more about the watch, take a look at the Isaac Mizrahi Smartwatch site.
