High School Musical: The Musical: The Series returns for their forth and final season. This season they return to the iconic East High to perform the play “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.โย The students soon find out they will be filming โHigh School Musical 4: The Reunionโ movie at their school. The new season brings back characters from the show, but also characters from the original trilogy return.
We recently interviewedย Joshua Bassett (โRickyโ),ย Sofia Wylieย (โGinaโ),ย Dara Reneรฉย (โKourtneyโ), Frankie Rodriguez (โCarlosโ) and Julia Lester (โAshlynโ) about this wild new season.ย Joshua Basset said about the new season, “it’s pretty crazy because we have actual crew members who are playing crew members in the show.” He explained that there were cameras everywhere in the story, “there were times where I didn’t even realize that I was on camera because I thought it was a fake camera. And ‘Josh, why do you have your phone in your hand?’ I thought that they weren’t filming me.” They other actors shared their excitement about how “meta” the show gets and the emotion of a final season.

Corbin Bleuโs success as a Disney star, musician, dancer and actor has been iconic to say the least. In 2006, He starred in High School Musical for one of his most memorable roles as Chad Danforth. After over 14 years since High School Musical 3, Corbin is back as a Wildcat. He returns to the HSM franchise playing himself in High School Musical: The Musical The Series.
The Knockturnal recently interviewed Corbin while he was promoting this new season of HSMTMTS. We talked about the amazing mind and leadership of director Kenny Ortega. Corbin told us about how Kenny helped create this amazing franchise and brought out greatness in the cast. We talked about the friendships he built during the years making these films and the emotional conclusion of HSM 3.
Corbin shared his excitement and optimism for the previous and future seasons of HSMTMTS. He is grateful that the series continues the legacy of the original films, while creating something unique for the current generation. Working on set with this cast of Wildcats was a fantastic experience for Corbin. There was a mutual respect between him and the younger actors, he explained to the Knockturnal. We even tried to get some insider info about the show’s season 3 soundtrack, but he declined to comment on whether he sings in the new season. Weโll have to tune in for the new music and episodes as Corbin and the HSMTMTS cast go to summer camp.
Corbin also told us about how he is proud of the diversity of roles heโs been able to work during his career. His producing, acting in film, his music and theater performances have provided some amazing experiences so far.
