Manhattan’s Stage 48 hosted this year’s 10th Annual Latin Mixx DJ Choice Awards on July 30th, where music pioneers such as Hip Hop great Slick Rick (Humanitarian recipient), industry innovator/executive and this year’s Lifetime Achievement recipient Sal Abbatiello, Spanish-language radio host, DJ Alex Sensation (Icon Award), record executive Porfirio Piña and Universal Music Group’s Gustavo Lopez (Trailblazer Award) were celebrated for their many contributions bestowed on today’s music entertainment, latin, hip hop and pop cultures. The five visionaries were honored with special Achievement awards on Thursday evening in a room of their peers and longtime followers as their influence is still ever present and continues to inspire those currently on the come-up; not to mention, all music enthusiasts of every kind and every age. LMX prior honoree Fat Joe and others were in the building as well while multiple DJ tributes, musical performances & acts took place saluting all golden era’s of music and entertainment.
