From the brilliant mind of director, writer, producer and star Cooper Raif, Cha Cha Real Smooth is a film that viewers can find life lessons, joy, and relatability in. With the combination of Raif and his Co star and producer Dakota Johnson, the film takes audiences on a journey of finding ones place in the world.
The film follows 22-year-old Andrew, who has just finished college and is now struggling with the idea of where he wants his life to go. He now finds himself back home in New Jersey, unsure of where his final destination should be. Andrew’s love of partying leads him to find a job as a bar/bat mitzvah entertainer, and it’s there that he means Domino, the mother of a young girl with autism. After striking up a friendship with Domino and Lola, Andrew begins to understand what he truly wants out of life, but finding it proves to be even harder.
Yesterday, Raif and Johnson were joined by their cast at the films premiere at The Tribeca Festival. In attendance was Vanessa Burghardt (Lola), Brad Garrett (Stepdad Greg), Raúl Castillo (Joseph), Odeya Rush (Macy), Evan Assante (David), and producers Ro Donnelly, Erik Feig, Jessica Switch, Shayne Fiske Goldner, Samantha Racanelli, Dan Guando and more.
Raif’s writing and his and Johnson’s performances make this film a can’t miss event. “Cha Cha Real Smooth” will be debuting in select theaters and on Apple TV+ on Friday, June 17th. We talked to some of the cast of this amazing film, check it all out below!
