Friends and supporters gathered with Chris Brown at L.A. Live on Tuesday June 6 for the debut of his documentary, “Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life”. Produced by Riveting Entertainment, it is a feature film that was released nationwide to the public for one night only on June 8. The Grammy-award winning singer arrived on the red carpet holding his daughter, Royalty, with his mother, Joyce Hawkins, proudly right by their side. Wearing a jade green tailored three-piece suit, he strolled down the red carpet happily posing for pictures in good spirits about the anticipated movie release.
The desire to document his life initiated from the immense love and support his fans have shown for over a decade. The 28-year old said he wanted to “give them insight on who I really am” and offer “a chance to see the good, the bad, the ugly, the everything”. Brown’s transition from bad to beautiful has been a tedious, yet rewarding journey fostering growth and maturity. While determination and perseverance has helped him overcome difficult situations his main goal has been to inspire others so “people can learn from them”.
Singer/songwriter Eric Bellinger, spoke of how Chris Brown has been a great mentor and friend in guiding him through his own music career. Eric shared some encouraging words of wisdom with us on the red carpet, saying, one should be “fearless with your talent. Be relentless, work hard and never take a day off because it’s always somebody out there that may want it badder than you. Go harder than anybody else and make sure you get to the prize.”
Overall, the star-studded event shed a positive light on the multi-platinum recording artist. Fans and friends admired the film and are awaiting the release of Chris’ next album which will be out later this summer.
