Wigs and gym shorts heavy, the 70s and 80s are in full force in HBO’s latest period drama. The television honcho unlocks and reimagines events of the Showtime Lakers in a land where Los Angeles glamour and glitz meet domination on the hardwood. HBO and HBO Max roll out episodes of original drama series Winning Time: the Rise of the Lakers Dynasty every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET and PT.
Adam McKay
From The Big Short to Step Brothers, Adam McKay has certainly proved himself to be a brilliant director, yet his latest satirical biopic Vice crumbles under the weight of its own biases–– it rewards a liberal imagination and illuminates little about political hawk Dick Cheney.
‘Succession’ follows the Roy family as patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox), looks to hand over his mega-media and entertainment company to his son, Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong). But soon all of the drama and dysfunction that ensues within a powerful and rich family that is hungrier for power above anything else begins to seep out. ‘Succession’ was created by Jesse Armstrong and executive produced by Armstrong, Adam McKay, and Will Ferrell.

We love Ben Falcone and Melissa McCarthy, and we’re pretty sure they love each other almost as much. So when there’s another movie with the duo, we just could not help but find out more about it and our next obsession.
The Boss is the next film written and directed by Ben Falcone and written and starring Melissa McCarthy. Coming on April 8, 2016 by Universal Pictures, the film will follow the story of Michelle Darnell, played by McCarthy, who is sent to prison after being found guilty of insider trading. After she is released, she hopes to start afresh and make herself known as a caregiving and wonderful person, although she is haunted by the people whose money she took and must make amends.
The film will star a huge boatload of people we would love to see in a comedy like this, including Kristen Bell, Peter Dinklage, Tyler Labine, Margo Martindale, Kathy Bates, Cecily Strong, Kristen Schaal, Annie Mumolo, Timothy Simons, Ella Anderson, Carrot Top, and more. With Falcone, McCarthy, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, and Chris Hency producing the film, we sure can bet it’s going to be laugh out loud hilarious. Filming began on March 12, 2015 in Georgia.
Sometimes a hero can be big. Sometimes a hero can be larger than life. A hero can be a God. A Hulk. An assassin. Sometimes…a hero can even be an…ant?
