Sicilian painter Alessandro Florio was the artist of honor at Gitano Miami Beach during Art Week Miami.

An incredible installation by the painter could be found at the modern Mexican restaurant and Alessandro Florio himself was there conducting a live painting throughout the evening. Guests entered the event through Gitano’s Casa Fena Lobby where they were immediately immersed in a stunning display of Florio’s work.

Florio’s family was also in attendance including his sweet daughter who played apprentice and his wife. Florio hails from Taormina — yes, the stunning backdrop of White Lotus — and first entered into the art world through tattooing. Both allow Florio a way to intimately expressive himself through an artistic medium. He moved into painting after a visit to the Louvre, wanting to work on larger subjects. His tattooing is both classic and visionary and he is still the owner of Puto Amor Tattoo studio.

After guests took in the vibrant work of Florio, they made their way to the jungle rooftop lounge where they enjoyed cocktails sponsored by Patrón and a DJ performance from the band Hercules and Love Affair. Chic outfits graced the dancefloor under the Miami night sky and disco balls with plenty of incredible tunes and views.
