Shudder Original ‘Destroy All Neighbors’ premiered last with Tuesday, with some stars and surprise guests making an appearance.
We had the pleasure of joining some of the cast and crew of Shudder’s newest horror/comedy “Destroy All Neighbors,” for the film’s world premiere and red carpet. Prior to the film screening, we had the chance to speak with some of the names behind the film with topics ranging from the film’s production to what inspired the film.
Some of the talent includes the director, Josh Forbes, and cast members such as Alex Winter (Bill and Ted) and the main protagonist Jonah Ray Rodriguez (who also produced the film). Kumail Nanjiani, also in the film, was in attendance as was “Weird Al” Yankovic. Some other cast members of the film also include Thomas Lennon (Reno-911) and Jon Daly (Kroll Show).
Before the film actually started, we heard from some of the names behind the film, mainly about how surreal this was, especially the fact that all these random comedy icons were in the same theatre for the same reason: to enjoy a harmless spatter comedy. The entire night, guests seemed really excited to be there, some merely because of the fact they were able to get out of the house and watch a film in theaters.
‘Destroy All Neighbors’ is filled with all the classic gore, but this Evil-Dead inspired bloodbath is kept in good fun. Because most of the blood and effects were practical effects rather than CGI, it made everything that much more realistic but also at the same time a constant reminder that this is a movie! If you’re looking for a horror movie that’ll gross you out, make you laugh, and has a good soundtrack, this film is for you.
