Sitting in the front row with her notable black sunglasses, a neat bob, and pursed lips was Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour. Next to her sat Kim Kardashian, sporting her own bob cut complemented by a metallic form-fitting tank top and equally tight leather bell bottoms. The pair looked on in support of Serena Williams who debuted her newest collection this fashion season.
Held at Metropolitan West in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, Williams’ show took the cake this year for ready-to-wear apparel. The audience gazed attentively at her new line, which included sable-colored suede pants, chocolate brown baggy jumpsuits, a neon green plunge-neck blazer dress, and a hot pink two-piece set. And the ensembles were just as diverse as the model selection. Williams casted plus-size women, and models from an array of ethnic backgrounds to demonstrate that her clothing suits any and every woman.
Other notable celebrities in attendance were Gayle King from CBS’s This Morning; celebrity blogger and radio host Jason Lee; food blogger and Kim Kardashian’s bestie Jonathan Cheban; Orange is The New Black actress Dascha Polanco; and Page Six TV host Bevy Smith.
A shy Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr. made an appearance next to her mom after the show closed, rocking a top bun with colorful Nike shoes, the toddler clung to Serena as the tennis star waved gracefully at the crowd. The collection is available now on www.Serenawilliams.com ranging from $59 to $229.
