A beautiful venue for an unforgettable night of drinking
Last week Secret Summer, one of the coolest cocktail festivals, made its way to The Foundry in Long Island City. This event had it all. A multitude of cocktails to satisfy everyone’s distinguished palates, a variety of food vendors, and the most unique musical performances. The Foundry is located in Long Island City, Queens and is most known for being a wedding venue. The inside of the venue looks like one of those old-timey factories that has been renovated to be modern, chic, but referential to its past. The best part of the venue was that there was an outdoor section where guests could enjoy the beautiful day and the very green scenery. The Secret Summer musical performers included Sitar and Tabla players, Hungry March Band, DJ Kieren Taylor, Kaoro Wantanabe Taiko Drums and Moon Hooch. And the Uprooted Flower Truck will be present selling hand-crafted, real flower crowns to guests in attendance. And for the food options, there was a delicious shrimp dish along with a steak dish that was extremely juicy and delicious. Also on the menu was a margarita pizza made fresh in a portable brick oven. It was a little comical to see guests constantly flock to the pizza and stock up on it.
But the main point of this event was to sample some of the most interesting cocktails. The event was split up into different cultural spirits. This included Japan in the greenhouse with Suntory Whisky Toki™ highballs. Hangar 1 Vodka will have a Hanging Herb Wall where guests will be encouraged to pick their favorite herbs to complete their cocktails. There was a Brugal 1888 rum tasting experience perfectly complemented with dessert. Brockmans Gin was featured in a Juniper
Forest.
