The library is officially open…
Celebrating their For Your Consideration for the Emmy, Season 16 Drag Race royalty – Dawn, Mhi’ya Iman Le’Paige, Morphine Love Dion, Plane Jane, Q, Sapphira Cristál, and the reigning queen Nymphia Wind – sashayed into the Culver City Julian Dixon Library.
Starting their engines, the queens performed “Power,” the season’s anthem of empowerment and civic engagement, and absolutely slayed it. The performance reminded us to all harness our collective voices at the ballot box this election season – that’s a message that resonated loud and clear.
After the electrifying performance, the queens joined forces with fellow RuPaul’s Drag Race icons – beloved executive producer Tom Campbell, the legendary choreographer Jamal Sims, and the ever-fabulous Michelle Visage – for a Q&A.
They spilled the tea on the season’s highlights, the importance of drag, and a few behind-the-scenes moments too!
The conversation flowed – serious when needed, but always laced with Drag Race wit.
Afterward, the queens sashayed into the red carpet…
In a candid conversation with The Knockturnal, all seven queens opened up about their experiences on Season 16. They spilled their feelings on the show’s success and even participated in a “reading session” – in true drag queen tradition!
The season’s success is undeniable, and we can’t wait to see where this fierce batch of queens takes us next.
