Viaplay, a popular streaming service from Scandinavia, has launched in the United States, offering a unique collection of curated content from the Nordic region.
With a price of $5.99 per month and a seven-day free trial, Viaplay offers thousands of hours of films, series, and documentaries, with a focus on Nordic Noir, a genre known for its psychological thrillers.
The service features exclusive premieres of man original series and films, making it an exciting addition to the streaming market, along with thousands of hours of third-party content. All content on Viaplay is subtitled in English, ensuring that viewers can fully immerse themselves in the Nordic storytelling experience. A few of the Viaplay series available exclusively include Danish crime drama “Trom,” Norwegian thriller “Furia” and Swedish drama “Threesome.”
The launch of Viaplay in the US is a significant step for the Scandinavian streaming service, which has already gained a substantial following in Northern Europe. With a loyal fan base and critical acclaim for its original content, the move to the US market presents a significant opportunity for the company to expand its reach and grow its subscriber base which is already enjoying record growth outside of its home region.
