Rick Ross is no stranger to business ventures, I mean he currently sits as Maybach Music Group’s label head.
It’s no surprise Rozay would want to expand his business reach, as most rappers do, however it’s pretty cool to see him doing so through less traditional routes. Instead of the expected sportswear-collaborative clothing line, or sneaker deal, Ross decided to get his feet wet in the culinary world, more specifically Wing Stop.
This past week, Ross held a night of music and wings over at one of New York City’s most well known sneaker stores: Extra Butter. The event highlighted the launch of another interesting business side step coming from Wing Stop; the start of their Wing Shop merchandise line.
Considering the recent fashion trends of wearing vintage clothing adorned in company logos, I think Wing Shop’s clothing will be rather successful, and having Rick Ross push the brand can do nothing but help Wing Stop. As for the night itself, Wing Stop and Ross did a great job at hosting a laid-back party, giving people time to mull over the Wing Shop merchandise. He seemed to be really comfortable promoting the business and gave off the vibe that this was an investment he was most definitely proud of.
The fact that you can now rock Wing Stop shirts promoted by Ross also means you can really live out the Lupe Fiasco lyric, “Fly as Rick Ross at a Wing Stop”
The Boss seems to have timed the release of this remix with Philthy Rich perfectly with Wing Shop’s launch
