Sunday’s 59th Annual Grammy Awards were filled with some high energy moments.
First we watched Lady Gaga walk the red carpet secretly praying for her sake she had some serious two-sided tape action going on.
Then first-time Grammy host James Corden caught Heidi Klum sitting on his dad’s lap, bringing out a nervous 8-year-old-boy-side of him unfamiliar to Carpool Karaoke fans.
And then Adele accepted her Grammy award for Album of The Year with a speech announcing she couldn’t accept the award because Beyonce is her life. We get it. Beyonce is life but to a lot of people out there, so are you Adele!
But as this year’s Grammy Awards came to end; artists, producers and music fans alike made their rounds through Los Angeles in search of the hottest Grammy after party of the year.
And The Knockturnal found it.
On Sunday night Republic Records celebrated Music’s biggest night with a post Grammy bash so epic it drew the likes of The Weekend, Heidi Klum, Paris Jackson, DNCE, James Corden, Stevie Wonder and Fifth Harmony to West Hollywood hotspot Catch.
The door might as well have been Fort Knox. Even models with a strict “no line” policy found themselves in a long line that extended down Melrose.
If you weren’t Jason Derulo – you weren’t getting in.
We’re not Jason Derulo but we knew people who knew people.
Once we entered the venue we were greeted by a stunning wall of white flowers.
“A Celebration of Music. Grammys 2017” we read as we entered the elevator to the rooftop.
Rows of FIJI water filled the front entrance with straws already inside the bottles because that’s how Grammy winners hydrate.
Make Up For Ever was on hand providing guests with touch ups and after going from our self applied nude lip to the professional hot pink, we headed to the photo booth because picture or it didn’t happen!
Waitresses wore Republic Records t-shirts and walked around with trays of sushi, truffled french fries, churros and chocolate chip cookies. Bartenders also sporting the label’s tee served cocktails like the Absolut Limelight – A Grammy inspired drink made with Absolut Lime, a splash of fresh lime and topped with ginger ale and soda.
On top of the bar sat a few topless models covered in dark green and brown body paint. We can only assume this was meant to have them blend in with the party’s garden theme.
Grammy performer The Weekend spent the evening tucked in a booth off to the side. Madden brothers Joel and Benji chose to celebrate with a more prominent booth in the middle of the club surrounded with friends. We also spotted Republic Records CEO Monte Lipman chatting it up with Kiana Brown, Republic Records’ latest signee with an India Arie vibe.
Other celebs to drop by included Adrian Brody, Nicole Richie, David Foster, Nicole Scherzinger, Prince Charlez, Amine, French Montana, and Sofia Carson.
Republic Records is home to ground breaking performers like Ariana Grande, Florence + the Machine, The Weekend, Lorde, Taylor Swift and a slew of other top selling artists.
By 1:30am we caught a stunning Katherine McPhee hanging out especially close to the elevators. We’re not saying she was trying to leave the party, but we took it as a sign we needed to call it a night and grabbed a bottle of FIJI water on the way out.
Too much champagne.
