The Legend Jermaine Dupri is searching for the next super producer, and Rémy Producers has chosen New York’s best for the season 6 finale, for a chance to take over the airways! The challenge was to use real sounds made when ice plunks into your glass and when stirring Rémy Martin in your glass, as a music sample. Four out of thousands of finalists were challenged to create an original beat in less than 24 hours.
On Wednesday, September 4th, Overlord’s dream came true when he earned the chance to compete in Atlanta for the number one spot! Power 105.1’s DJ Envy and Grammy award-winning producer Boi 1da hosted the night. The event took place at the gorgeous wonderland, The Dream Hotel Penthouse Lounge on the lower west side in Manhattan. Accompanying Boi 1da on the judging panel were fellow producers Trakgirl and Zaytoven weighing in on the competition. With good music and penthouse views, a few heavy hitters popped out in support of SO-SO DEF and Rémy Martin, like singer Elle Varner and Maggie Carrie, Mogul Angela Simmons, comedian Gary Owens, and Influencer Miss Diddy.
