New York’s Wall Street’s district brought together some of Hollywood’s top of the list stars to raise awareness and funds for cancer. In attendance were event chairs Jim Toth and Reese Witherspoon, Alec Baldwin, Ken Jeong, Maura Tierney, Joe Torre, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, Emmy Rossum, Alice Eve, Donna Karan and Scott Lagasse, Jr. Everyone enjoyed musical performances provided by Tony Bennett, Sheryl Crow, Jamie Foxx and Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum.

The proceeds raised throughout the evening went to supporting collaborative cancer research, including a new Dream Team focused solely on colon cancer, the country’s second-leading cancer killer of men and women combined as well as a cause that remains near and dear to Katie’s heart. Special announcements were made at the SU2C event which included new major commitments from Bristol-Myers Squibb and Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, and celebrated Major League Baseball, MasterCard, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, and The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research for their everlasting support of Stand Up To Cancer. Also in announcements, a new collab with American Airlines, Merck & Co.

Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) is an organization that raises funds to increase the pace of research to get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives now. SU2C, a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was established itself in 2008 by film and media leaders who utilize the industry’s resources to engage the public in supporting a new, collaborative model of cancer research, and to increase awareness about cancer prevention as well as progress being made in the fight against the disease. As SU2C’s scientific partner, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and a Scientific Advisory Committee led by Nobel Laureate Phillip A. Sharp, PhD, conduct rigorous, competitive review processes to identify the best research proposals to recommend for funding, oversee grants administration, and provide expert review of research progress.
