In honor of the final season of Queen Sugar, a special luncheon was hosted with some of the cast on October 7th.

The event took place at 1 Hotel Central Park in New York City to celebrate season seven of Queen Sugar which was released on September 6th. Some of the cast members in attendance included Bianca Lawson, Tina Lifford, Omar Dorsey, Nick Ashe, Tammy Townsend, and showrunner and director Shaz Bennett. The food options offered during the luncheon were shrimp salad, red quinoa salad, gluten-free jams chicken, wild striped bass, avocado toast, gluten-free chocolate budino, and peach crisp. While people ate, guests spoke with some of the cast about various topics and shared multiple laughs. This soon lead to some of the cast going around the table discussing what the show has meant to them, sharing stories of their favorite moments, and showing appreciation to everyone who has been a part of this project.
Queen Sugar follows the lives of three siblings, played by Rutina Wesley, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, and Kofi Siriboe, who live in rural Louisiana. They must deal with the death of their father and figure out the future of his 800-acre sugarcane farm. Over the last seven seasons, Queen Sugar has offered viewers a show that includes conversations about legacy, family dynamics, life changes, and more.
