On April 16, Prime Video hosted a special screening of “#1 Happy Family USA,” an upcoming Prime Video adult animated series, at the Metrograph.
Attendees included co-creator and cast member Ramy Youssef and cast members Alia Shawkat, Timothy Olyphant, Chris Redd, Salma Hindy, Randa Jarrar, Whitmer Thomas and Paul Elia. Executive Producer Mona Chalabi and co-creator and co-showrunner Pam Brady, best known for her work on “South Park,” were also in attendance.

“#1 Happy Family USA” follows the optimistic Hussein family as they navigate suburban life post-9/11. As they navigate Islamophobia and shifting political circumstances, the family finds itself in comedic situations, balancing tough subject matter with hilarity and absurdity. Although the show deals with tricky topics, it is ultimately a coming-of-age story, following the life of Rumi (Youssef).

Following the screening, guests were invited to snap photos in a themed photo booth. Attendees also enjoy themed food and beverages such as light bites from “Hussein Hussein’s Halal Cart” and cookies inspired by the Hussein family’s adorable pet lamb, “Lamby.”
“#1 Happy Family USA” is now available to stream on Prime Video.
