TREASURE Gives Fans a “Special Moment” in Their First USA Tour at the Final Stop in L.A.

The lively and dynamic South Korean boy band danced their hearts out on stage during their hour-and-thirty-minute set at the YouTube Theater for their final stop of their first-ever U.S. tour.

TREASURE—South Korea’s hidden K-pop gem, the rising K-pop boy band sensation under the reins of South Korean mega label YG Entertainment, closed out their ‘SPECIAL MOMENT’ tour. The tour was their first in North America, with a setlist loaded with riches, consisting of 17 songs. The concert lasted an hour and thirty minutes and left fans, aka TREASURE MAKERS, or as the group lovingly calls them as ‘’Teume’’ (an abbreviation), wanting more as the energy in the theater was electric.

The “Special Moment” was exclusive to the cities of New York, Washington DC, Oakland, and culminated in Los Angeles for their fourth and final show at the YouTube Theater on April 13th, 2025.

The Knockturnal witnessed the electrifying talent and soulful voices of the South Korean boy band.

As a person who has surface-level knowledge of K-pop through experiencing the groups of the “second generation” such as “Super Junior” and being vaguely familiar with the behemoth known as “BTS.” From viewing “Treasure,” I believe these ten young men can go toe-to-toe with the bulletproof Boy Scouts.

A sea of blue light sticks with a diamond superimposed on top (a physical representation of the group’s logo), surrounded me as the roar of the crowd rose and the stage lights went down. Ten of the free-spirited and charming young members made their mark on the stage. From the audience reactions, they struck gold here in Los Angeles.

The setlist for the concert ranged from songs from their debut to their most recent release, a special mini-album called “PLEASURE.” The group is notable for their elaborate dance performances, which were the highlight of the show.

Another huge highlight was, of course, the music.

The concert immediately began as the lights came down and the boys walked out on stage, performing ‘’JIKJIN.”  There was no opener or a pre-recorded video known as a VCR.

Among my favorite performances was ‘’MOVE,’’ from Treasure’s first sub-unit T5, a raucous, high-energy anthem that got the whole crowd on their feet and dancing with slick choreography and really leaning into a funky bad-boy energy.

The song ‘’G.O.A.T,’’ sung by the raucous rap unit of the band, was very rock-influenced. Thunderous guitars making everyone headbang along, giving tinges of nu-metal with the combination of rap and rock. The crowd also went insane once “Can we dance now?” was asked by the group, prompting an amazing solo dance performance by Hyunsuk.

Another hit with the crowd, served right after, was ‘’MMM.’’ The group flawlessly showcased their synchronous dance moves with the rhythm guiding them as they swiftly and seamlessly moved in formation with one another as the Teume screamed in excitement.

During the lull between songs, the band pulled their weight in a spectacular form, by showing their skills in a coordinated jam session which not only pumped up the crowd, but kept the momentum.

On the lighter side of their discography, there is the song ‘’YELLOW,’’ which has a sweet, soft sound and a catchy chorus that still has the crowd bouncing along to the beat as the members harmonize and dance along. Yet it still has teeth due to the rap section of the song. Soon, this got the crowd singing along loudly during the refrain ‘’IT’S LOVE,’’ where you can feel the love oozing from every inch of the venue.

Speaking of love, the song “I WANT YOUR LOVE” brought the house down. The boys brought the party atmosphere hard, not missing a step as they sang about wanting to party and rocking your body in a way that made many in the audience move right along with the boys.

Right before the encore, the Teume shouted for more Treasure, not wanting their time with the boys to end. I felt the same and chanted along with them, now counting myself as part of the Teume. Thankfully, we got more Treasure with a massive encore, with their crowd waving their light sticks adamantly.

To top it all off, the boys popped off with a medley of ‘’GOING CRAZY (Remix) + B.L.T (Bling Like This) (Remix + ORANGE (Remix).’’ This performance tore the roof off the YouTube Theater. The show finally ended with an encore performance as the group performed ‘’I WANT YOUR LOVE’’ and ‘’MMM’’ for the second time, giving the audience one more chance to dance before returning to the real world.

Shel, a treasure maker since 2022, shared her thoughts on the show, “The set list was well-selected, a good combination of most of their title tracks and a couple of their most recent songs. My bias (favorite member) is Yoshi. My favorite moments from the concert were during songs like Run, Going Crazy, and their encores.’’

She further explained that this concert was unlike any other K-pop show they had attended. Each member got their chance to shine while showing their energy, while some were shy. The concert blossomed with stage presence and fan engagement.

On how Treasure stands out from other K-Pop groups, “I would personally say yes. Treasure is one of those groups that stick to a sound that works for them. They do not shift their vibe for sounds or genres that are trendy in K-pop at the moment, yet they still manage to have a diverse discography… I think this contribution gives their music a more distinctive identity,” said Shel.

Speaking of the popularity of Treasure in the USA, Shel stated, “I would say their popularity resides primarily in Japan. This was their first US tour in their 5-year career, and I think if they had more opportunities to come and promote out here more regularly, I think we’d see a more steady growth in their western fanbase. I think this tour was a good start!”

Treasure regularly engaged with the audiences, being extremely charismatic and hilarious. The group frequently interacted with the audience in different ways, from playfully splashing water to grabbing an audience member’s phone and taking a selfie while wearing their hat. Proclaiming several times throughout the show how much they love LA, I don’t think this will be the last that Angelenos see of them. Truly living up to the name of the group and tour, there were so many special moments that fans and  I will “treasure” forever.
