Filming of “Better Place” became a social experiment of its own kind.
Award-winning and platinum selling pop star, Rachel Platten, has unveiled a video for her newest single ‘Better Place’ off her album Wildfire. Platten conducted a sort of social experiment with this video. She invited her fans to come in pairs to an intimate studio where they were asked to simply sit down and look at each other while listening to Rachel’s song. In the meantime, the singer was watching their reactions backstage from a hidden camera.
“My goal for this video was to try to capture that moment of raw emotion when you look into the eyes of someone you love,” says Rachel. “Casting actual fans to participate in this shoot really brought the concept to life. Now every time I watch it I get the feels!”
Recently, Platten was awarded Daytime Emmy for her performance of “Fight Song” on ABC’s Good Morning America as well as “Best Lyrics” at the iHeartRadio Music Awards and landed her first Billboard Music Award nomination in the “Top Selling Song” category for ‘Fight Song’; the awards will be held later this month.
