In a hidden beauty bungalow off Santa Monica Boulevard is the Ra_Bar Beauty Salon, which has serviced some of Hollywood’s most elite clientele including Pamela Anderson, Naya Rivera, The Pussycat Dolls, several of the Victoria Secret Angeles, Jenna Dewan Tatum, and more! However the atmosphere of this luxury oasis is so welcoming and down to earth, anyone who walks through its door will feel like a star. Combining the latest cutting-edge beauty techniques with its personal philosophy of natural and organic treatments, the salon offers several services including but not limited to blowouts, style, cuts, color, highlights, makeup applications, brow and lash tinting, extensions, and organic spray tanning. The salon also has the unique privilege of being a Kevin Murphy flagship salon, giving it and its patrons access to products that are equivalent to the quality level of an around the world vacation, first class.
Founded by three master stylists and friends Whitney Olson, Audrey Rae, and Kennedy Van Dyke (nicknamed “The Trifecta”) this Salon has several different strengths and over 30 years of experience with some of the world’s leading stylists to make it stand out.
Olson was trained in New York under Edward Tricomi, later moving on to become the Creative Director for Warren Tricomi LA salon until it closed in 2014, freeing her up to start her own adventure with Ra_Bar Beauty salon. Along with being featured on Access Hollywood, The Doctors, The Tyra Banks Show, The Hills, Queer Eye For The Straight Guy, and other shows, Olson was also voted one of Haute Living Magazine’s “The Three Best Stylists Who Will Make You Look Fab”.
Rae was lucky enough to study under some of the beauty industry’s top stylists including Jonathan Antin. Her natural talent paired with a passion for putting the nature back in natural beauty has made her one of the area’s most sought after artists.
Van Dyke is Los Angeles born and proud to call herself a third-generation stylist. After spending her childhood on film sets across the world and graduating from cosmetology school, she assisted the top colorist of the Beverly Hills’ Christophe Salon for three years before moving to West Hollywood’s Warren Tricomi Salon alongside Olson where she built up an extensive celebrity clientele as well as a talent for working with extensions.
According to their booking site, the salon is open seven days a week and appointments can be scheduled online or over the phone. Normally, I’d be worried about telling too many people about such a great spot, but my appointment’s already on the books ;-).
