At the SVA Theater in New York City on May 13, the purple carpet was rolled out for director John Krasinski and the cast of ‘IF‘ to celebrate the movie before sharing it with the world.
Ryan Reynolds was particularly excited for his kids, Betty, James and Inez, to finally see it.

“They are going to love this,” Reynolds told us, “they’ve seen little chunks, they’re obsessed with the trailers, so they’re gonna see it shortly and I can’t wait.”
“I don’t get to make a lot of movies that I think that they would love as much as I would love.” he added.

Bobby Moynihan stepped on the purple carpet dressed for the occasion in blue Burberry frames and a purple tuxedo that matched his character’s imaginary friend, Blue. He told us that he, too, had an imaginary friend growing up.
“I think I had a couple,” he said, “One was called Ishkabibble*, but I don’t think he looked like anything.”
Holding onto his own memories of playing with an imaginary friend, it’s no wonder the movie meant the world to him.
“It’s beautiful, it’s funny,” Moynihan explained, “it reminds you not to forget that there are things in life that are pretty magical. And even though there are sad things that happen and we all go through these terrible moments, there’s always something good around the corner.”
