A guilt free drink you can gulp down

Spiked seltzer has been the latest drink trend with alcoholic beverages.  Not only are spiked seltzers low in calories but also usually have a burst of flavor packed in each can too.  And over the past few weeks, Proof Point Spirited Seltzer has been the name on everyone’s lips.  Some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, from award winning recording artists to renowned chefs have been seen with Proof Point Spirited Seltzers in hand.

So far Proof Point has hit 27 states across the country and has recently released their latest flavors featuring liquors like vodka, whiskey, tequila, and rum.  Proof Point Spirited Seltzer has done a great job in pairing the best flavors with each type of liquor.  These flavors include a whiskey seltzer with blackberry lemon, rum seltzer with mango pineapple, vodka seltzer with lime, and tequila seltzer with grapefruit.  Each can contain 12oz of spiked seltzer and has around 5% ABV, 100 calories, and zero sugar.  That means you can enjoy a variety of these flavors and not feel guilty or sluggish like you would with some of the more sugar intensive drinks.

We got a chance to try some of the Proof Point Spirited Seltzer flavors and we were definitely impressed.  Not only does the drink itself feel refreshing from the carbonation, but has an impactful burst of flavor that really tastes like the flavor being presented.  Our favorites out of the four were definitely the rum seltzer with mango pineapple and then tequila with grapefruit.  We recommend refrigerating all of these seltzers and having them when cold.  We first tried the rum seltzer when it was ice cold and took the first sip, we were hit immediately with how light and crisp this drink is.  It didn’t feel overwhelmingly heavy or syrupy like some of the other products out there too.  And once you taste it, your palette is hit with light notes of tropical fruit from the mango and pineapple but not in a way that it is overpowering.  The same thing goes for the tequila seltzer too.  The taste of grapefruit was so nice and contrary to what you might think, the grapefruit wasn’t too tart or bitter.  In fact, there was a bit of sweetness to it that doesn’t feel like just refined sugar.

Proof Point Spirited Seltzer’s goal is to create a spiked seltzer that is real and doesn’t have a ton of refined sugar in it that just makes you feel gross afterwards.  Jamie Wideman, the Vice President of Molson Coors Innovation said, “When we looked at the seltzer category, there was an element of ‘realness’ missing. We wanted to create a product that brings you those high-quality ingredients and a brand that celebrates those bold enough to be real.”

If you’re interested in trying Proof Point Spirited Seltzer, they are now being served in single flavor 4 packs.  You can also go to proofpointseltzers.com to learn more about the brand and to keep up to date on new product launches.
