The performer known as CeeLo Green has been evolving since the early 90’s, so when The Knockturnal heard Green was debuting a brand new persona at the Primary Wave Entertainment pre-Grammy bash, we grabbed our heels and headed to the scene.
On Grammy eve, leading independent talent agency Primary Wave threw their annual Grammy party – this year on the chic rooftop of The London Hotel in West Hollywood.
Brandy and her brother Ray J, Austin Mahone, Melissa Etheridge, Bai Ling, Empire’s Taraji P. Henson, and legendary music executive Berry Gordy were all in attendance as guests toasted to music’s biggest night with Moscow Mules and cocktails provided by Smirnoff.
CeeLo Green himself (rather not so much himself) made a splash on the red carpet as Gnarly Davidson, his latest persona, wearing all leather and a glowing face mask. In fact we weren’t 100% sure it was the “F You” singer until the mask came off.
The bash was also an unofficial birthday party for singer Brandy who turned 38 with several guests singing her a rendition of Happy Birthday.
Guests nibbled on passed hor dourves like sliders and chicken skewers. There was also a pasta bar on hand with all the fixings and sauce you could mix and match with.
Guests also had the opportunity to experience a Nelly Furtado virtual reality performance that synched to artwork featuring women from all over the globe wearing their country’s traditional wear. A political statement perhaps, but we loved the nod to female empowerment. The VR pop up followed the theme of the exclusive event’s invite which brought you into the event space a head of time with the use of VR glasses.
Guests partied into the night dancing and mingling to the tunes of Dj Cassidy.
