Primary Wave Music is the industry’s leading publisher of iconic music worldwide. Primary Wave is also home to some of the industry’s biggest artists, producers, songwriters, and record labels, including Prince, James Brown, Aerosmith, Ray Charles, and Whitney Houston, to name a few.
For GRAMMY weekend (and Whitney Houston’s birthday weekend) Primary Wave put on a four day event at the W hotel (nicknamed the Whitney Houston hotel that weekend), commemorating Whitney’s beautiful lifelong legacy and career.
Her career began in the 1980s and she has sold over 200 million records worldwide since. In addition to a lengthy career, she’s also one of the most decorated artists of all time having received six GRAMMYs, two Emmys, 16 Billboard Music Awards, 28 Guinness World Records, and plenty more. She also has dozens of Billboard hits including, “I’m Your Baby Tonight,” “I Will Always Love You,” and “My Love Is Your Love.” Her soulful gospel-bred voice inspired her iconic nickname “The Voice” and she’s inspired many artists of today including, Brandy, Monica, H.E.R., and several others.
Saturday night was meant for celebration as the pre-GRAMMY party and red carpet were the highlight events of the night. Attendees included Katie Welch, Porscha Coleman, Shaun Robinson, and Aly & AJ.
