On this week’s Power Book III: Raising Kanan, it was time to say goodbye to Scrappy.
The character got an unexpected death thanks to Raquel as he was labeled as a snitch. I must say, I felt bad for him. But in the world of Power, trust nobody. Scrappy should have read the room as soon as the door was closed. I do wonder what is Scrappy’s connecting to Breeze though. Also to note, I was getting serious Tommy Egan vibes from Marvin’s sarcasm. I had tears in my eyes when he pissed everyone off while eating chips, and then pissed off the old white man.
Famous getting kicked out of his home for doing what every sixteen year old does when they have a girl over is not a surprise for me. This is how parenting was in the early 1990’s and this show put a light to that very accurately.
There is another moment that I liked on this week’s episode and it was the scene between Raquel and Jukebox. I always see the mom and daughter vibe between the two even though Juke wants to find her biological mom. I also believe that Burke is the reason to why Juke became a cop on the original Power. It’s amazing how slowly they’re removing Juke from her original form before constructing the Juke who appears in Power. Although she’s built for the dark world, she doesn’t want to be near her family. Having lost her first love, her dad is worthless to her, and her mother will ultimately let her down will seemingly lead her to the Juke that we know on Power.
With detective Howard healing up, Unique out of jail trying to rebuild what he lost, Marvin possibly getting together with his therapist, Kanan learning more about the drug game, and Lou-Lou working on his record label, there are good stories that are set up for the rest of this season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Only two episodes in this season and there is a ton to look forward to! Solid episode this week.
