The futuristic watch designs of Philip Plein give timeless a whole new meaning.
On July 6th German Philipp Plein hosted the launch of his new luxury fashion watch collection at the Waldorf Astoria, Beverly Hills, joined by his family and fashion aficionados. Guests came dressed in Plein’s designs and shared admiration for the watch displays. Philipp Plain began his brand 25 years ago and has over 110 stores around the world. Including fashion hotspots such as Milan, Paris, Barcelona, Berlin, Dubai, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Shanghai, and Singapore. Plein first released his fashion watches in 2021 in collaboration with Timex Group. Fast-forward to 2023 his most recent collection of timepieces brings together luxury watches and NFTs.
Upon entering the venue a glass of champagne fills your hand. To accompany it, a delicious assortment of hors d’oeuvres is served from the Waldorf’s signature restaurant, Espelette Beverly Hills. Striking yellow calla lilies adorn the tables, glowing in natural light peaking through the open sunroof in the lounge area. In order to entertain the guests while we waited for the reveal of the watches, a DJ played music to get the guest up and dancing. Later, the timepieces made their grand reveal in a separate room where guests could walk through the exhibition. Guests also got the opportunity to try on the watches for themselves. The aesthetic of the watches gave admirers a futuristic feel as the display case lit up creating a tunnel-like illusion, luring in the crowd. A photographer captured the looks of awe as we made our way through the unveiling.
