Presented by Pete Rock and directed by Sean Johnson, “Peace Beloved” is a three part project including film, book and music. The projects touch upon themes of loss, family, education, the streets, music and much more. The short film begins by introducing AMXXR and his history, upbringing and culture. Following his introduction we learn about his education at Fordham University and the community he’s helped shape. His friends, colleagues and peers discuss his music and how despite fads and pop culture, AMXXR continues to create content that is true to his spirit and sound with a heavy lyrical focus. The short film is intercut with scenes of AMXXR rapping new tracks from his mixtape, which is another part of this this three part project. Peace Beloved “is a way of life and a way of thinking” says focal character AMXXR before discussing many artist who are beloved that exemplify the lifestyle.
