While the iconic Grand Central station is known for transporting within New York State, on Monday evening we were virtually whisked off to Italy. With Italian wine in hand, we entered a circular room where we were surrounded by PANORAMA, 13 minute 360° panoramic video that immerses guests in a multi-sensory experience.
One second we were standing in the heart of New York City and the next we were flying over the Italian Alps, chasing the Amalfi coast, and surrounded by the vineyards of Tuscany. The goal of the film is to provide insight and value into what is means to be Made in Italy. The video covered the nature, culture, and craftsmanship of Italian workmanship. They touched all bases included fashion, design, food, hospitably, speed. It was truly a journey over the many years of Italy’s contributions to society. By the end of the experience,
we were craving authentic Italian passport and itching for our passports.
We got the chance to hear from one of the influential partners, Andrea Illy, President of Altagamma/ Chairman/CEO of illycaffè – “Beauty is the best way to express Italy because beauty continues to inspire our country, our friends, and visitors for 3,000 years now. Beauty regenerates itself. The effort has been to concentrate the very vast amount of beauty into one location and you will see the result.”
The exhibit will be available in the Vanderbilt Hall of Grand Central Station until July 20th. Check it out for a quick staycation!
