Check out highlights from Young Thug’s CRWN interview.

Last week Young Thug sat down with TIDAL’s Director of Culture & Content, Elliott Wilson for the latest installment of CRWN interviews, available for streaming exclusively on TIDAL. Not only did the interview take place around Thugga’s latest album release, So Much Fun, it’s also Thug’s first album to debut no.1 on the Billboard charts.

The intimate affair was live streamed from New York’s 40/40 club, where Thug pulled up with Lil Duke and Gunna. Thug and Elliot discussed his album, J. Cole and the importance of supporting new artists. With the number of unbelievable features on So Much Fun, from hip hop heavyweights to newcomers,  it’s obvious that Thug was excited to put on newer artists. Thug kicks off the interview telling Elliott that he’s never paid attention to numbers before, but this time was different, “What made me care about the numbers this time is to show all the people that’s up coming …to keep going.” Young Thug also discussed the importance of being a “big homie” and helping developing artists, “I put people on so they can put people on…I want everybody to feel my joy. Gunna seen me buy my mama a car and a house for her birthday and he crying…the whole time I’m thinking man how the f*** can I make this n**** a superstar. I want him to do this for his mama next year. We did it. Thug also discussed how refreshing it was to see a writer like J. Cole go into the booth and freestyle, “that’s one of the best verses cause I seen him just go in the booth and think this s*** out bar for bar.” Check out the full interview below.
