On Monday October 28, The Dramatist Guild Foundation held their Annual Gala to raise money and honor many of names who have created beautiful art in the theater world, raise money for the foundation and give the Stephen Schwartz Award for the 2024 year!
In the Ziegfeld Ballroom, when the red carpet died down, the patrons and artists settled into their seats as Amber Ruffin, the host for the night gathered our attention to start the night’s festivities. And needless to say, but Amber is an incredible host. She had the perfect combination of silly humor while also expressing a sense of genuine love and care towards writing, her community, and the foundation. She mentions how “writers create. Writers wake up and ask ‘what if’ everyday” and without them, we wouldn’t have the art that has changed our lives.
