This past Thursday, Swizz Beatz celebrated the release of his most recent album “Poison” in New York. “Poison” is his first album release in over a decade.
It’s fair to say that the fans were yearning and patiently waiting for new Swizz music. He delivered 10 unbelievably strong tracks, each honing a different kind of story – yet consistent with the project’s overall concept of the poison around us.
When first walking into the listening party , there is a clear aesthetic going on. There was an abundance of red lighting, caution signs on the walls that had ‘poison’ on them and a DJ that knew how to keep the night going. There was an outside area as well, where people were networking and coming together for their joint love of music.
Notable people were in attendance, from ASAP Ferg, Jim Jones, Styles P, Hood Celebrity and many more. Everyone was mixing with everyone. The photographers capturing the moments of the night were able to capture legends amongst legends interacting.
Swizz Beatz walked into the room around 11:00 pm (an hour before the album was officially live on streaming platforms). With his entrance, the flashing lights and energy in the room started to shift. Swizz first caught the eyes of Jim Jones – and they ended up having a beautiful moment, where they hugged it out and just showed genuine support towards one another. Jim Jones is someone who’s also featured on the album. Then, ASAP Ferg and Styles P also came through for a photo and Swizz made his way to the DJ Booth.
He thanked everyone for being there, full of gratitude and hype ended up saying some words and proceeded to play the album. Watching the album being played for the first time and seeing everyone’s first-time reactions is always a beautiful moment.
