On the Scene: Questlove Presents Bowlmance at the Brooklyn Bowl

Questlove shared the love this Valentine’s Day.

The DJ and Roots drummer stepped behind the turntables at Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg to spin some classic R&B slow jams on Feb 14. The clever portmanteau name of the event — DJ Questlove presents Bowlmance.

Couples got real close on the venue’s dance floor to slow dance to tunes from the Isley Brothers and other romantic songs.

For those with two left feet or otherwise not inclined to hit the dance floor, Brooklyn Bowl offered other Valentine activities. Lovebirds could take a cute pic at a photo booth. Mosey up to the saloon style bar. Or, of course, bowl.

Questlove has had a busy last year, from directing the Oscar nominated music documentary “Summer of Soul” to appearing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” nearly every night to completing The Roots’ first album since 2014.

One dollar of every ticket was donated to the ACLU.
