The Knockturnal attended the Los Angeles tastemaker screening of AMERICANA at Desert 5 Spot.
AMERICANA, starring Sydney Sweeney, Halsey, and Paul Walter Hauser, follows the story of an unlikely duo teaming up to retrieve a rare Native American artifact, leading to increasingly dangerous situations as they become entangled with a relentless criminal.
Desert 5 Spot was a fitting venue to celebrate the western setting of the film, including special activations such as a mechanical bull, personalized cowboy hat embroidering, themed photo booths, and passed hors d’oeuvres.
Before the screening, we spoke to writer and director Tony Tost on the red carpet.
Tost discussed his love of the western genre, a favorite on-set memory, and his desire to revamp the typical American small town portrayal in this exciting cinematic experience.
In addition to Tost, notable attendees at the event included Sydney Sweeney, Halsey, Simon Rex, and producer Alex Saks.
AMERICANA hits theaters on August 15th!
