Denise Rich’s Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research brought floral and fauna to Moxy Hotel’s Fleur Room for the inaugural Midsummer Angel Gala.
Hosted by the newly-formed Young Professional Council, the sold out evening was emceed by YouTube personality Twan Kuyper, with live performances by America’s Got Talent finalist Johnny Manuel and DJs Celeste Greenberg and Coco Robert. Honoree and fashion designer Andrew Warren mingled with guests including Joy Corrigan, Jessica Markowski, TK Wonder, and Michon Vanas.
The inaugural event was chaired by Thomas E. Pierce II, Chimere Cisse, Alexander Ulvsgard, Julija Nikonovaite and Hugh Barton of the new Young Professional Council for the Foundation.
Attendees donned white and yellow attire to celebrate the summer season, and Midsummer traditional flower crowns were being sold onsite for the festivities. The aptly-named Fleur Room sprouted with floral arrangements and fauna-printed embossed couches. Guests sipped on custom cocktails, ranging from tequila and agave Angel-ritas to gin and honey Bees Knees.
Proceeds from the evening benefitted Denise Rich’s Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research’s Music Therapy Program. The Foundation supports pediatric cancer research for less toxic treatments. Founded in 1996, the Foundation has funded more than $35 million in grants, making it one of the largest non-governmental sources of grant support to blood cancer research.
